| Okay, I could have phrased that title a little differently... Anywho! A couple of days ago, I my teacher told me that I'd have to go help out in the gifted kids' (Smart kids from other schools) classroom.
Happiness level - +2 I didn't know what I was doing, but hey! I got to miss math and language!
So I went down to the classroom with two other students, and when I opened the door there was a scientist speaking with the students about certain animal kingdoms/groups. Note that our gifted program is funded much more than our school itself, so just the fact that that scientist was there was cool enough, but it got better.
Scattered on three tables were plastic containers with reserved corpses of dead animals, and the gifted kids were going to study them, and I had to supervise 1 of 3 groups. (The animals died of natural causes just so all you animal lovers know).
So I thought that we were just going to look at the animals, but it turned out that the scientist was handing out gloves, meaning that we got to pick up and examine them!
Happiness level - +5 I'm a very observent/curious person, so while this may sound gruesome to you, this was cool to me!
The gifted kids had to fill out all of these stupid sheets about the animals, but because I was supervising, I could just pick them up and see them up close! This was a very fascinating experience, and I enjoyed it a lot, and because of how low my school's funding is, this was a once in a lifetime experience for me.
Although the animals kinda smelled... Happiness level - -2

Noooooooooo! Not the kitty! I love animals and I don't want to see dead ones...and I definitely don't want to dissect one. ...But...just out of curiosity, what kind of animals were you able to examine?

...But...just out of curiosity, what kind of animals were you able to examine? Lol. There was a jellyfish, a huge snake, a frog, a baby pig, a bat, a baby shark, a mouse, a long fish with really sharp teeth, a bunch of squishy invertebrates, and microscopic stuff. It was a fun morning, but I can see how you wouldn't want to see them. The only bad part was the smell of the preservative chemicals that kept their corpses in tact....

Do you take anatomy? Because seniors in my school had too for that class =P I walked in one day and it was pretty awesome. By the way, Yoshi, they don't kill the cats, they are usually ones that the pound has donated to science when they put them to sleep.
